Information regarding transfers from Cork to Killarney

The Irish Medical Organisation looks forward to welcoming you next week to Killarney for the PWG Autumn meeting.
I have received many enquiries regarding the transfers from Cork Airport to the Hotel Europe in Killarney.

As Killarney is approximately an hour and a half from Cork, we are running two shuttle buses on the 29th October and for the return journey on 1st October.
We have tried to accommodate as many people as possible in regards to the transfer. However, there may be a delay between when your flight arrives and when the transfer is organised. You may also like to travel into Cork city, depending on how much time you have between your flight and your transfer. There are buses and taxi’s that can take you from the airport into Cork city which is approximately 10-15 minutes from the airport.
If you would prefer to catch a train from Cork to Killarney, please see http://www.irishrail.ie for timetable details. Trains depart approximately every two hours.

In regards to the transfers, I have listed below the times and current passenger listing. The driver will be in the arrivals hall prior to the departure of the bus with a sign saying ‘PWG’. If you no longer require a transfer, please let me know as soon as possible by emailing me: ccamilleri@imo.ie
In regards to the social program, we have arranged the following:

Thursday 29th October: Drinks reception from 8-9pm

Dinner on Friday 30th October at Foley’s Restaurant in Killarney. A bus will transfer us at 7:30pm from the hotel to the restaurant.

On Saturday evening, the formal dinner will be held in Hotel Europe.
If you have any queries regarding transportation or the social events, please do not hesitate to contact me on via email on ccamilleri@imo.ie I look forward to seeing you all in Killarney next week.

Kind regards,
Claire Camilleri

Autumn PWG Meeting 2009

Dear Colleagues,

The next PWG meeting is getting close! In only six weeks we will all be sitting together in
Killarney discussing major issues for the lives, training and working conditions of European
Junior Doctors: EU Directive on Cross Border Healthcare, European Working Time Directive,
Telemedicine, European Medical Workforce, Mobility of Doctors or the collaboration with other
European Medical Organisations, are some of the subjects. The input of all members in these
and other projects is vital!

This is also an important meeting for our organisation. There are new developments on the
PWG legal registration and on the Brussels Office. We would kindly like to ask you to
incorporate in the National Interim Reports three topics that you expect the PWG to
achieve during the next three years. They can range from National problems to European
expectations. This will help us to improve the strategy of the new Presidency for the mandate
2009-2012: “Reaching out for European Junior Doctors”. The document will be discussed in
detail in the PWG EC meeting on October 3rd and after that shared with all the members. The
Agendas and more information will also follow immediately after the meeting.
Please register at the meeting as soon as possible!
Looking forward to seeing you soon in Killarney!
